Dr. Berg talks about excessive yawing. This is usually low hemoglobin (low iron). Grass-fed liver, red meat, seafood, eggs, or a small amount of molasses all increase iron. Yes, it's true that spinach and other vegetables have iron, but not in the active form like in animal products.

The other cause is low stomach acids, which cause you to not absorb iron - take apple cider vinegar for this (1 tsp in a glass of water with meals).

There can also be another condition called acidosis, in which you need to bring down the pH by taking calcium magnesium (empty stomach), but this condition makes you sigh frequently, which is slightly different than a yawn.

Mine used to respond to increasing iron, but this past year didn't. Turned into air hubger which is very uncomfortable! As soon as I started using the Betaine HCL, I noticed it got better pretty quickly! So I am glad that was mentioned!

Dr. Berg I just started keto yesterday. Can you please do a video on how to start keto, what to eat the first few days to keep going, what to expect, and... basically a motivational video for us newcomers. It's hard. It really is. I was bread person... :(. I bought almond flour this morning... i pray all goes well. Dr. Berg! Please a video for newbies!

I yawn the time. But 90% of the time it isn’t a full satisfying yawn. So annoying. I also suffer anxiety 😥

I have been excessively yawning off the last two days non-stop. I’ll yawn as much as 8/9 times per minute, and it goes in all day. It’s been two days. Not sure if it’s air hunger, or low in iron. Literally scared on what’s happening. It’s been two days! Help?

To people with the excessive yawning or "need for completion of a yawn/ air hunger" type of feeling.
I'm 99% sure it's all from the stomach and vagus nerve being damaged.

I've been having this on and off for the last 4 years, it has its peaks "flare ups" then it takes a couple weeks for it to taper down with diet adjustments.

Try taking antacids and seeing if it makes a difference, if it does then it's for sure in the stomach and you should look into protocols for that, get checked out for pylori/ SIBO and even do a parasite cleanse.

i yawn alot sometimes for no reasons and when it starts i feel like its never going to come to end.

I yawn because i am usually bored like i am reading my textbook and i am not understanding. Usually i drink tea and a little of honey in it. It is fabulous. I will be so awake and energized. Sugar helps me to wake up. But not too excessive. Moderation is the key.

So then, what to do about the conundrum of needing more acid in the gut while simultaneously dealing with heartburn, GERD, and all of the related symptoms. I've routinely consumed apple cider vinegar as well as enzymatic supplements. Also, while trying to add calcium aren't we neutralizing acid as a result?

Hi Dr B! I've been intermittent fasting for 3 weeks and lost 16 pounds so far not really been sticking to a diet as such but plan to try the the ketosis side now, I have to say you have changed my life with your videos, the science you provide in your videos is incredible and give me a great understanding of how my body is reacting to foods, love it.

I have a question a friend of mine has epilepsy and wants to start intermittent fasting as well but he's worried about it triggering it, as his blood sugar will drop, but he's not had an attack for 12 years do you have any suggestions?

I don’t usually yawn…but I can made myself yawn 50 or more times if I want to.
I lye on the bed and stretch..and I will yawn.
Feels good & refresh. Good circulation for the brain & my body system. I think it’s good for the body as a whole.

I have noticed after the gym I yawn excessively. Even as I am walking to my car for the drive home. It happens every single time. Not sleepy at all. So weird.
