My wife and I had our first dance to this song in the 10th grade, with the lights dim, leading her to our spot on the gym floor, we stopped and faced each other. She raised her arms, embracing me around my neck and my hands around her waist. The nervousness... the closeness of the slow dance, and she is in my arms. My heart was beating loud, the vibration of this song from the speakers, time stopped. In a gym filled with other students, it was only her and me, not another person in that moment. I can still feel the dance from that night.. I fell in love with her. I knew she was my forever... I am grateful to say she is my first and only love. i still get emotional when i hear this song. I have to add the rest. After 10th grade, I moved away. My dad was in the Marines, so we had to relocate. I broke her heart. We saw each other briefly when I came back after our senior year. There was some hurt between us, so we didn't pursue one another. She went off to college, and I joined the Marines, I never stopped thinking of her overseas. I really missed her and said I would try to see her when I got back. When I returned in 1986, she was going home for summer break. I remembered her phone number and left a message that I was an old friend from high school. She returned my call, and the rest is history. She blessed me with three children and is the best Mom.
