The only 'unrealistic' thing about your long skinny bathrooms is how mad the Twitch chat gets over them ngl. I've encountered so many 'water closet' style bathrooms, especially in old British houses, that would be 1x3 in The Sims, with the door in the middle and a toilet and sink on either side. I've even encountered them under or behind staircases, which can get quite claustrophobic.

The fact that we got curved walls before a spiral staircase is still wild to me

UK here, my sister's house was newly built to include a tiny bathroom. 1 x 1.5 Sims grid squares. It's totally a thing!

I feel like the 3x1 "tiny bathroom" is just like a standard half bath lmao, I've been in so many bathrooms exactly like that

As a Swede, I can say that we do have small bathrooms, and sometimes under a stair. As you say, it all depends on the building. :P Especially older buildings or apartments have small bathrooms.

We'd probably just call it a toilet rather than bathroom but a downstairs toilet is so normal in the UK! In my current house we have an upstairs bathroom, and a downstairs toilet, super convenient and helpful for parents with kids visiting to not have to navigate stairs!

the 3x1 bathroom IS sooo normal to me too! i know so many people with a “3x1” bathroom just like the one in this build, it’s actually a very common thing

When Kayla said ‘my husband’ I was kinda taken aback haha. So used to hearing Dan or my boyfriend/fiancé

In Germany, at least in Bavaria, those skinny bathrooms are quite normal as like the 'guest bathroom'. So we'd have a bigger bathroom with the shower and/or bathtub, a toilet and sink but also have a tiny small thin room with just a toilet and a sink. Sometimes also under the staircase, yes. I don't find it weird at all

I don't know what the whole argument is with the tiny bathrooms, because they're perfectly normal. Especially in older houses. And especially in England, due to the house structure and system from the Industrial Revolution. We needed houses where everything had to be there, so bathrooms were commonly tiny (When they were actually inside the house, that is). Large bathrooms and multiple bathrooms are relatively modern.

The small half bathrooms are basically in every single Dutch house.. It's really common to have it in the hallway/entry, along with the stairs and usually a closet with all the electricity and wifi stuff..
And the size would honestly be more like a 2x1 or even 1x1 tile in the sims

In my experience in South Africa our bathrooms are also small. Having a "half bath" for guests is common where there is only a sink and a toilet.

I feel like I was the only person who didn't want curved walls for this exact reason. Knowing the pattern of the sims team never developing features fully, I didn't want curved walls. Alas, here we are.

I live in Poland in apartment building, I was in a lot of apartments like this, and almost every one I've been have two bathrooms - a teeny-tiny one with only a toilet and usually a small cabinet (in Sims that probably would be 2x1 or, if that would be possible, even 1, 5x1) and then right next to it a bigger one with sink, bathtub/shower and usually a washing machine. Ofc I saw a bigger bathrooms all in one or whatever, but usually in single-family houses or more modern apartments. I never in my life saw a long and skiny one, but I still can imagine it and for me it's a lot more practical to have a toilet and sink in the same room.

Honestly the curved walls are unnecessary, I fell like the sims team only put them in because of paralives, and rushed the release, personally I'm never gonna use them because if all the glitches :(

honestly i grew up in a 100-year-old "Victorian bungalow" as my mom liked to call it. The original en suite in the main bedroom was....a tiny shower stall, an itty bitty sink, and a fairly normal sized toilet that kept you from reaching the shower safely. Somewhat unrelated, the walls were just plaster with waves carved into it painted red and black, and half of them were exposed drywall.

The only large bathrooms were the downstairs guest bath (which was still small, kid-sized), and the upstairs bath (which unfortunately housed a CAST IRON TUB that perpetually left cracks in the living room ceiling). The only reason both of these existed is because it was originally a flat.

Oh, and the guest house connected to the garage had such a tiny bathroom that if you tried to turn around you would touch a wall no matter what.

I love a good speed build with Kayak just talking about whatever. Like Love island 😂 Her voice is so relaxing to listen to in the background 🙂

Smallest FULL bathroom I ever used was during a stay in a hospital. I remember thinking, this is a Sims bathroom because it had a free floating corner sink, some tile, a drain, & a removable shower head right over the toilet.

So if anyone ever tells you it's, "uNrealiStIC To hAVe A shoWeR aboVE THe ToiLET", I can unfortunately assure you, it's not.

Just yesterday I did a traditional mayan house using the round walls. It ended up being a tiny house tier 2 and the hardest part was trying to fit a small bathroom in one of the round corners. They're a nightmare!

About the bathrooms, I'm from Mexico, bathrooms are usually not that big, I did my house in the sims and the bathroom was originally 3x2, irl it would be like 2.5x1.5 it's all cramped. Why would you need more space? What are you doing in your bathrooms people?
