I used to cliff jump with friends during the summers of my youth. 30 years later, I found myself jumping off a high cliff in Cyprus while on vacation. Scary and exhilarating and YES, risky. The Cyprus jump was my last. Never again.

This guy is there with friends, looks like he’s pretty good at what he does… Please be very careful; swimming in rock quarries can be very dangerous for a multitude of reasons…people drown in them every year.

I recently watched a video that warns ⚠️ NOT to jump into any quarry as they often have garbage, cars, and buildings scraps... to include glass, wire, etc !!
People have lost limbs, been paralyzed or die!

Jumping into quarries it’s dangerous in it if itself but jumping into them from this height is like asking to be killed or paralyzed

When we were kids, a former classmate of mine planned and executed a feet-first jump from a highway bridge. It has an 80ft clearance with about another 30ft to the guardrail. They found him alive, down river, barely conscious, among the flood bank tree limbs. His pants were torn off. His sneakers were up over his knees. It's hard to judge the risk/benefit until it's over. He became a city cop. I hope he's okay.

I've swan-dived just over 40ft. Even fist-first to break the water, it's a collision. You must enter clean. If you fail to widen your body right after entry, you'd better have plenty of free depth and air to breathe. Quarries are known to have poor visibility and submerged machinery.

Working on offshore oil rigs they told us if you have to jump off in emergency…take your PFD and hold it in your hand…otherwise if it’s around your neck…it will break it or under your arms it will break your collar bones…then you will float to the bottom and swim with the fishes 🐟🐠🐡

Used to jump in a quarry in Jersey as a kid. The water was shielded from the sun by the hillside. Even in the hottest part of August the water never got above 40. Once you hit the water it was 150 yard swim to the shore. Damn near froze to death. 😂😂😂😂
