I work for an arcade/entertainment company. We just pulled a Sunset Riders from one of our partners. The guy had the machine on the front porch of his business for years. I almost cried when I saw how badly damaged the cabinet was. Thankfully, the internals are just fine. I've been "testing" it nearly every day since.

100% agree... This is an absolute classic Konami game! Great to see it available for MiSTer. Have to applaud the MiSTer developers for all the hard and AMAZING work they do for these older games. Amazing...

Played through this core during the weekend and had a blast. The SNES version was one of the games I bought when I bought a SNES and a ton of games back in 06-07. Got it for cheap so I'm really happy about that.

I remember those shot glitches staying on screen was an early problem with the MAME driver too.

There are some minor audio problems too - some hanging notes that don't resent until loading a new level.

The first time I played Sunset Riders was in MAME many years ago. It's really nice to see it in Mister now. I grabbed the 2-player .MRA files off PNC's discord. Nice to be able to pick whatever character while playing on a dedicated MisterCade cabinet.

Another great Konami title that should be in Mister is Cowboys of Moo Mesa, but my bet is that TMNT:TiT is next.

Great game and I played the arcade version and then the Megadrive version straight after, I think it could have been better but good to have 2 different games. Konami had quite a few western themed arcade games, but one I really like is Iron Horse, it does have a few similarities with Sunset Riders, a special weapon is taken from a man with a bag. But the run and gun aspect of Iron Horse is only limited to a whip, short gun or punch. But both have fantastic music in them.

What are the other cores Jotego still has in Beta? I know he has 'claimed' quite a few at this point but I don't know what's currently being worked on.

this was one of the cheapest boards I bought at the time, must've been under 100 bucks or something. Maybe 80. Honestly a really fun game that i really should be popping back into the cabinets. That being said I'm glad that Jotego is doing this. Just need to get to the Mystic Warriors Based Hardware games and I might start selling those games for real.
