Diving into tackles is my biggest problem, however when I try to just jokey into space my opponents seam to have more space to play straight through me. If I can fix this my game will be sooo much better.

Most people don't have the basic understanding of how defending works. Trying to get the ball as soon as possible is the quickest way to receive a goal. When I play this game, unless I'm frustrated and completely unfocused, most matches end up with goals less than 3. Because I don't press, I don't try to get the ball unless the opponent makes a mistake, I keep my defence narrow, try to leave wide spaces open because most players are dumb enough to make pointless attacks behind the central defenders. When you push them wide, all they do is to cross - easily defendable - or try to dribble past me - easily manageble.

When you evade disrupting your defensive blocks as much as possible, making a counter attack comes effortlessly, especially if the oppoment is not playing better than you, it makes it so much easier.

But most people just try to play this game, only in attacks

Division 5 player for years, in and out of 4, but on FIFA 20 div 10 since it's release. It's so frustrating. I can score with ease however my defense is horrible. What did I miss ? FIFA 20 suck when defending. Players feel like a monolith while defending.

I just learnt that R1 is not for jockeying.. I was pulling out my second defender everytime I wanted to do a tackle by pressing the R1 button along with the tackle instead of L2!!

My mistake is using L2 R2(Fast Jockey) a lot and i can’t control it because L2 so slow for me, can you help me with that?

People often just ai defend and use their cdms to jockey, I really want to use this as my cdms are really really good, have the problem where my two cdms don’t actually cover the space I want them to cover, I’m not sure if it is because I play 4-2-2-2 I’m not sure?

That dragback really pisses me off. I remember in fifa 19 dragback 4 times in a row and finesse - goal. It's hard to defend because it so fast move and your defenders usually becomes uncontrollable during that move. One step to other side and you slide away on ice and he moves with speed boost. So unfair
