Thousands of folks venture out to the Black Hills every year for the Sturgis Rally and unfortunately a large percentage of them are not prepared for the possible pitfalls that could befall them out in the hills. Awesome advise! I would also add; follow the speed limit through the turns and curves. My 1st time out was last year, and the roads were certainly different that what I'm used to on the East Coast. Slow it down and enjoy the scenery. I will be back in a few weeks for the 80th!

Rain is pretty easily avoided with a weather app on your phone. Trick is, outside of scheduled concerts, be open on what days you're doing what, this way you check your app and go where the rain isn't. Been going to Sturgis for over 10 years and never been rained on.
