The airlines need to face SEVERE penalties for this BS. They need to pay ALL passengers' incurred costs until they can deliver the services their passengers paid for. If you can't provide the service, don't sell the ticket and let your passengers know BEFORE they get to the airport. Most airlines know well in advance of issues and just choose to let you arrive and then be stranded without options. They also need to make overbooking illegal because that's another big issue that causes passengers to be stranded as well. Only in our world can a business sell more than it has and then put the onus on the customers. It's outrageous!

2 24 hour layovers on my way to France because of Delta. A 14 hour trip has turned into 3 days! No problems with Air France at all.

The longest I've been stranded in an airport was 3 weeks and this is absolutely true the movie with Tom Hanks living in the airport was based off of my experience

I don't fly anymore because it's not worth the risk

Airlines are committed to making profit for their shareholders. Delta chose to offer employees departure and retirement packages not thinking about pent up demand sprinkled with supply chain issues and inflation due to poor handling of Covid. They don’t have enough employees anywhere in the system anymore and those not used to speaking to unhappy customers are jumping ship. Certain positions have been in overtime and double time pay for almost a year and a half STRAIGHT. 1 in 3 phone calls is someone upset about pricing, service, and delays and cancellations. The majority of people answering phones have barely been on the job a month. They’ve hung on this long thru sheer will of the loyal people who showed up every day to work. If every single employee worked 24 hours straight, it still wouldn’t get them out of this. That’s how far gone this is. This might be the beginning of the end. I just hope they are honest with themselves and understand the reality of the situation.

This isn’t only a Delta issue—its all airlines BUT Delta is not handling this well at all. I had my Delta flight cancelled last Sunday and I was rerouted on a flight leaving at 1 am and would have entirely missed my business meetings. I also waited on hold more than 6 hours for Delta CX. Their messaging service is also majorly flawed and I was transferred 4 times in 6.5 hours on messaging and had to wait another hour each time for even a blip and then they asked all the bot questions all over again. Extremely frustrating that Delta customer service is bar none the worst for the majors. That said, by the end of the week last week, I had a huge kindness from a Delta check in agent in Denver after being in 3 cities in 4 days. It’s not the folks on the ground creating this mess and Deltas HQ has not addressed the subpar phone and messaging service for months and months. Best advice—do not try to travel on Sundays and Mondays where I have found less staffing, etc. Be ready to call first thing in the morning (by 9 am ET) and your hold time may only be an hour. When you look at the ridiculous cost of Delta flights vs everyone else…and you factor in the subpar customer service, it may be best to look at regional airlines.

I had an air Canada flight canceled last week and it cost me about $700, The employees at YUL airport were . . . . .terrible. I would ask one for direction and go to the person or place they sent me to discover they were wrong and then go to a third person. It took hours to figure out what my next flight option would be and then an hour ride in a terrible uber because all the hotels were full thanks to the formula one race. I NEVER plan to go to Canada again. I will also not fly with any layovers. Hell, I may never fly again. Unless my wife changes my mind. LOL

Baby Carson doesn't give a shit about cancelled flights. Long as you keep the baby bottles & clean diapers comin', she's good.

My husband and I have been abused by Delta every trip this year. They couldn’t care less and customer service is a joke! The last two trips we elected to drive because as it turns out it’s faster then flying. 😝😝😝

Any rental cars? Or all they all rented out? That’s where I’d start.

They all may have had delays and cancelations but all of them didn't take the money from the Government for the bailout 👀👀👀

This is what happens in centralized economies. Systems don't work. There isn't enough to go around.
