I've probably watched a dozen videos on this, and this one is by far the easiest to follow. Subscribed.

Best tutorial for dealing with cable tension issues. While other guides tell you to adjust the tension arbitrarily. This guy came in with a more concrete approach. Helped me fix my gear adjustment problem in 20 minutes. Thanks man!

Due to the first 2 minutes I avoided this video but after finally gave it a go there were a few good pointers that all other videos missed. Kudos

Every other video I've seen over complicated the crap out of this... Your video was the simplest, easiest way to do it. Thanks!!

As a basically curious guy who likes to watch appliance repair people, auto mechanics, etc., I was determined to replace and setup  my broken SRAM. I watched several videos, followed the instructions closely, and found that what worked on the stand didn't work while riding. The technique described here was brief, accurate, and helped me understand the actual process, especially the fine-tuning-on-the-trail part. As a retired professor, I compliment you, Goose, on being a natural teacher. Good job and Thanks!

THANK GOD FOR YOUR VIDEO!!! Your video was the only one I found on YouTube that actually helped me fix my bike. Your method was mind-blowing compared to the dozens of videos I’ve seen on YouTube. THANKS!

That screwdriver tip (to get the right tension on the cable) is genius. Thanks!

The idea to set tension starting in the middle chainring worked like a charm. Thanks!

Thanks. I spent about 5 hours on it today, and finally got my front derailleur shifting. I find the front derailleur on my cheaper bike is temperamental. But your suggestion of setting the derailleur to the middle gear with some kind of shim and then tightening everything in place finally worked. The other guy here who has a million plus views on the same topic didn't explain it like that.

A real honest and down to earth explanation and practical approach to teaching this. I agree 100% that you can't get it perfect until you throw your tools in a pouch and get riding the bike. Thanks !!

Thank you so much. As others have commented I spent way too long on this project using suggestions from other videos. Your suggestion of starting at the middle cassette and adjustment barrel in the middle did the trick for me. Clarifying the limit screws are not for adjustment, but the barrels are really made everything click for me (no pun intended).

Cheers jake, havent cycled in 17yrs and just bought used mtb. All other vids i watched didnt mention front derailleur should only be couple of mm above large cog, mine was at least 10mm. Finally i can access all 3 cogs after days of fiddling.

Glad to be able to help you out. I try to make things more clear than others that seem to complicate things a bit too much.

Nice laid back vid, most other vid say to start with low gear ( big back ring & small front ring) but yours made easier sense! (in the middle) will try method, thanks Mgj.
