New programme to train next generation of cybersecurity officers

A new training programme aims to build up the next generation of cybersecurity warriors to guard Singapore against emerging digital threats. It is geared towards fresh graduates and mid-career workers with no prior experience in the field and is fully funded by an agency under the Defence Ministry. Upon completion, participants will be placed in a full-time role.

the fact that CSIT thinks they can run a successful 7 month bootcamp boggles me (unless there are super selective with their admission), security seems to me quite a bit tougher than software engineer (which many bootcamps already struggle with) to think that bootcampers with no computing background can do any kind of meaningful malware analysis after 7 months is beyond me, the mostly likely scenario here is they become glorified security guards at SOC / NOCs after the 7 months lol
