Mystery of the Marfa Lights

For just about 140 years, people have reported strange ghostly lights wandering above the horizon in Marfa, Texas. Fifty miles from the Mexican border and 200 miles from the nearest major airport, Marfa is a dusty dot of a town with one traffic light and fewer than 2,000 people in the remote reaches of far West Texas. Just outside of the town's borders, the Chihuahuan Desert sprawls towards the horizon in an endless expanse of cactus scrubs, scorched prairie and tangled tumbleweeds. I'm going to guess they're a natural, but poorly understood or unknown electrical phenomena....
