Can Ferns Survive In Water? Hydroponics Experiment | Fern Repotting in Leca + 1 Month Update 🌿

Had the craziest idea to try and repot my new fern plant in leca and water (hydroponic method). Since Ferns love moisture and you almost never can overwater them I wanted to try and see if it can survive in leca like other plants such as philodendrons, mostera etc.
This video took me one month to complete in order to include the 1 month update, but I will make again an update on the two month mark.

Just rinse the leca. Never had issues using it in all my terrariums. TDS don't bother plants if it's only a small difference. I think us fish and shrimp keepers know more about that than just plant people. In fact plants can't grow in 0ppm, they need minerals to grow such as calcium which increases TDS. Plants would normally get this from the soil or fertilizers, but if you are growing plants in just pure water they will die. The ph would be basically so acidic it would burn their roots.
