President-elect Donald Trump vows to slap 25 per cent tariffs on all imports from neighbours Canada and Mexico while also adding a further 10 per cent on all Chinese goods in a bid to combat drug-trafficking and illegal immigration into the U.S. The announcement triggers a rally on Wall Street and the dollar climbs higher. In Germany the SPD choose incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz as its nominee in February’s election as the party struggles in the polls. Steel giant Thyssen Krupp says that cheap Chinese imports will force it to reduce its labour force by up to 40 per cent by the end of the decade.

How bout the optics of Granny working the street for her Medicare premium? When a tomato cost $4, nobody gonna give a crap about fentanyl.

That 10% for China is ADDITIONAL to his threatened 60%. You think he's gonna tariff China less than Canada? Nobody will be building broom factories here to pay workers $40 so they can afford $50 brooms. Cheap labor is not an unfair trade advantage.
