Here in beautiful California where I have a small engineering firm, they started raising the minimum wage from $8.50/hr to $15/hr about 5-6 years ago (first to $10, then $1 a year). You constantly saw news articles of people complaining that they couldn't live on $8.50 and needed $15/hr to make it. I saw this coming and I said to myself "Inflation will just make that $15/hr look like $8.50 of 6 years ago." Sure enough that's what's happened. Now the same workers that were screaming for the $15/hr rate are screaming that they can't make it and need it to go higher. So this is my question: with Minimum Wage and Inflation, which is the Chicken and which is the Egg?
