I make $43/hour in the SF bay area as a garbage man. Doesnt feel like much anymore.
Only perk is not paying for medical and being able to get done in 4-5hours and be home early or get a part time.

I got a class A but i just got an interview for a Class B rear loader! Hoping i get it i work 2 jobs as it is. So if i can get some okay pay with Over Time im good . Interview at 1pm August 5th . Prayers accepted fellow truckers !! Be safe out there

Just had phone interview. I got in person interview Thursday for swing driver here in Baltimore MD. I started in trash with rear loader. Definitely wanna get back these tractor trailer companies I’ve been dealing with is so inconsistent or they losing contracts or laying people off F that! Never had that problem in the trash business 🤞

Boys with CDL license, get into the unions, Liuna, IBEW, make big boy money. In socal, starting CDL A start $38hr.
Operators Union - Hydrovac Operators $61hr.
Think bigger with your CDL.

Sanitation especially isn't made for weak people. You need to have that "it is what it is" mentality. You can't be like "ew no thanks"

**Update** currently in August of 2023..still havent gotten that shit yet...but i got a job with kroger...delivering groceries...they started me off at 18.95/hr and we get 50 cents raise every 6 months.... full coverage benefits...40hrs/ week...very chill job...not hard at all... you also have the option to work a 6th day if you want....only goofy part about the job is my days of... its Wednesday and Thursdays 🤦🏽
An as for the people suggesting that i get the A because of the unlimited options..i hear you....i agree with the options and more doors opening...but i have absolutely no desire to drive anything bigger than a box truck, dump truck, cement truck, city/school bus or garbage truck.... just a preference.... doing OTR is ass.... ive done it before on a smaller scale..i was a sprinter van expeditor.... i was on the road for 1 yr straight...i didnt come home...so i know what it's like ...been to every state....doing OTR.... done with that...no more. And driving a semi in cities is rough... yes..this might sound like excuses...but i can assure you its not..its just a preference....thanks for the advice ✌🏽
