My favourite quote : "There are two types of investors - those who don't know what the stock market will do next, and those who don't know that they don't know what the stock market will do next".

What an absolute banger of a video!!! You make economics simple and fun.
2 words never ever associated with economics.

I have a few shares, but I’m gradually thinning them out, I will have 5 high yield UK holdings when I’m done. I’m putting everything into VHVG aside from that. I just find it all too distracting. Looking forward to not checking prices several times a day and getting on with my job 😅

Great video as always. By the way the 100k silver plaque looks great over there! 🎉

Personally, I won't be changing my investment strategy at all.

Standard direct debits as normal for me.
I did do a little extra "shopping" yesterday to go along with the shopping I did earlier in the month and in the early August dip. 😁

I was much more disciplined when I could only have a single S&S ISA a year. Now not so much, plus before this year I had only ever bought index funds. Now I hold some individual shares, not something I thought I would.

On my T212 isa I have a satellite holding of USML it's a S&P small cap and thsts 11% up in 3 months I just guessed that interest rates would fall & thsts normally positive for small cap but hey £ cost averaging will take care of stuff.

Thanks again for another great video, I was planning on doing absolutely nothing with my investments, good to hear you think the same.

Nice analysis! To summarize, paraphrasing Bogle, “don’t do something, just stand there”.

Hi toby I’m keeping with my plan; buying top notch ETFs and individual stocks whatever is happening in the market. When I make a decent amount of money on an individual stock I sometimes sell to feed into my ETFs.

Nice vid - thanks for the content.
Added to US small cap today and watched the S&P rally.
Might not last. Who knows ?

There is a mistake in not realising profit - the buffer in case of an emergency seems like something which is a no brainer - but taking the 20% or so of profit gained in the 9 months of this year and putting some aside seems to be beyond some people as it will always go up - the mantra being espoused when the financial crisis hit anyhow each to his own.

One tip I've heard is to buy when there's 'blood in the water' so if/when there is a recession then that's the time to buy, also goes without saying but everyone needs a 3-month emergency fund before investing in anything

It matters a lot to EM economies who have USD demonstrated debt and no coincidence that iShares turkey etf had a huge volume spike on Wednesday, however it's unlikely inflation has gone for good and is likely to return sooner or later as globalism ends

In the environment of low and moderate short-term inflation spikes experienced in strong developed economies, rate hikes have long been put forward as the tool for fixing inflation. It doesn't work. Inflation usually rises to between one and five per cent above the bank rate, starts dying back on its own, followed by rate cuts that help it die back further. By that time nobody knows or cares what was cause and what was effect and they are retired to the Caymans or Virgin Islands by the time it happens again. If you want to put the brakes on the economy, chucking vast fortunes at the bond market makes no sense whatsoever. Instead, try increasing taxes in targeted areas.

Let’s hope we don’t have a recession 😬 Great explanation re the effects of interest rate changes, learned a lot, thank you Toby. I’m going to carry on cost averaging, it’s all about the long game for me.

3:58 you said the number of the bank note doesn't matter, so I'll give you a fiver and take the £21 in a year 😎 😂 😂 Great video!
