My family does the exact same thing. It’s not that abnormal

Don't feel bad. My family's custom is so different my children used to tell their friends, "Have fun!" When their friends would say they had a funeral to go to. My family would have a wake but only spoke of the funny or amazing things that happened in the dead person's life. After we go to a bar, if the person who died has a normal bar they went to we would go there. We eat, we drink, and play games to remember the dead. The music the dead person likes is played at all times. This is what my kids grew up with thinking a funeral was... as you can imagine, when someone on my husband's side died, they were extremely shell-shocked. 😂

Its incredible how people tend to forget veils are a thing for christians as well. Where I live its common to see women using a veil in mass, Im even considering getting one for myself
