When I was in high school (2002-2006), they mentioned Marxism and Communism, but it was taught explicitly as "capitalism good communism bad". There was never an attempt at objectivity. When I asked questions in history class my teacher laughed in my face and my peers started calling me a communist. I was certainly drilled on only the virtues of capitalism and the pitfalls of communism. That was my experience.
