Yes invest in a good pallet jack & straps (not Walmart cheapies) & some blankets if you're gonna haul whatever! A couple of load locks wouldn't hurt either! And as far as no touch freight, most of the time if not all the time you would want to watch them load & unload your freight so you can make sure your load is secure & properly loaded on to your truck as well as being evenly placed so one side isn't heavier than the other. Also to make sure the freight isn't damaged during loading & unloading because they will deny & then you'll be responsible! So make sure those pallets are properly shrink wrapped or whatever it takes to keep that load stable & in good shape! Also keep a couple of rolls of shrink wrap in your truck! Home Depot sells them all day long! Some times you can use the customers shrink wrap instead of using yours but that's not always the case so better to have & not need right? Also it looks professional when you have your stuff straight & show's the customer that you care about what you're doing! Not just so you can get a check but also that you take pride in you're equipment & what you're doing! And please dress the part! Don't go into these business & loading docks wear slippers & sweat pants & your pants hanging off you're butts OK? Keep a hard hat & a safety vest & safety glasses in your truck at all times because you never know where you'll e picking up or dropping off all the time & you wanna always keep the customer calm & impressed that your ready for whatever! I wear Caterpillar boots with a composite toe & they are comfortable & the only boots I wear when I'm out there bumping docks! Plus they look good 😁 But Sketcher makes some nice safety shoes too & you can get your safety vest & hard hat either off Amazon or Home Depot. I wear my safety vest as like apart of my uniform daily & so it doesn't bother me at all! I bought mine off Amazon & so I was able to choose the exact one with pockets & size & color that I wanted as well as the reflective strips that can be seen from all angles & it's durable because you will have to wash them every now & then. Cost vary so beware that most times the cheaper the price, the cheaper the product! If & when you're able you can buy your personal uniforms from Dickies (my favorite) or Red Cap or anyone well made but reasonably priced work clothes company. You can get what color you want & get long sleeves & pants for winter, and short sleeves & shorts for summer. And you always be matching & looking professional on the job & mostly it keeps you from messing up your personal clothes! I buy at least 6 of each & rotate accordingly. They always have discounts & coupons especially around the holidays! Now me, when I rotate in a fresh batch of shirts or pants, I wash a drop off my old ones at the Salvation Arm or a Goodwill box because someone can always use them as long as they don't have holes in them yanno? Sorry to be long winded but dressing the part as well as being as professional as can be is my thing! Stay safe & Good Lord keep his light on you & your family 💯👍🏿🙏🏿✌🏿

I would also advise building good relationships with freight brokers who call you often for your capacity. Service them really well, and they will keep coming to you to move their freight. They will turn you on to the high paying loads and you will be off to a great start . I know you mentioned shippers as direct customers, that is also fantastic advice. Great

A lot of people get on here and brag about how well they're doing and the $$ they're making but get amnesia and Ignore people when they ask for leads or Helpful information about the Box Truck Business. I really appreciate your time and Honesty for most won't go
Into specifics like you're doing.
I wish only the best for you and yours and may you receive all that you deserve and desire.
Peace and Blessings! 👍🏽

Very informative. It's good to learn instead of just hearing about drivers making all that money with their box trucks with no help to anyone else trying to make it. Thanks again for your video. Just got my own box truck authority 👏🏽

Interstate non-CDL drivers of vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight (GVW), gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), gross combination weight (GCW) or gross combination weight rating (GCWR) between 10, 001 and 26, 000 pounds require a DQF. (Once a vehicle reaches 26, 001 pounds, a CDL is required in order to drive it.)
