Contacted McMaster-Carr to see if they could supply me with a SolidWorks model. Emailed me back to say they didn't have one, so instead they sent me a sample part. This was surprising. I decided to use the sketch picture method to create the model. It didn't need to be perfect, just pictorially decent so I could add custom properties to it for the BOM. Worked like a charm.

Hi Toby. Just getting around to starting this. Question on creating an assembly from a part. Why do we have to start on the front plane? I'm having a hard time visualizing why this is needed. Thanks for the help.
BTW, Awesome tutorial so far, gonna try to get through the whole thing. 😬
