I remember hearing Mariss Janson the first time with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He conducted Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Symphony in E Minor. The adagio iii movement made me cry. It was my first time hearing Rachmaninoff. Thereafter, I discovered the 2nd and 3rd concertos. I have been a Rachmaninoff fan since. Thank you, Mr. Janson

I really love this piece. I really think it's B's best piano piece. The interaction between the piano and orchestra is just beyond words, ala Mariss and Lang Lang, perfecto like a musical ballet dance. I should say that the recording is great too. Thanks.
