I Bred A NEW FIG TREE…And It’s A COL DE DAME Fig!

I developed a brand new fig variety as a part of my fig tree breeding program. This newly bred fig tree is a cross between the male caprifig 'UCR 271-1 Saleeb' and the female common fig Coll de Dama Gegantina / Col de Dame Gegantina.
It has maintained much of the female parent's DNA in that it is a greenish-yellow skinned fig with a very chewy texture and jammy center. However, this is the FIRST fig the tree has ever produced, so it will continue to evolve as it ages and express more of its genetics. I expect the fig to become very large since both the mother and father fig trees are big figs. It is also exhibiting the long neck and tight eye of the mother, which are ideal traits.
I think this fig will have A LOT of potential.
