gotta respect to the rick and morty team as this is the only glitch that actually change the length of the episode and required more animation then just editing some glitches

My friend told me he was watching rick and morty normally and he saw the glitch happen, (not knowing about it) and he said that it scared the sh*t outta him
To be honest it scared the sh*t outta me too, and i was full aware about the glitches, i just didnt know when and where they would happen, i got adjusted to the normal feel of the episode for a few minutes and outta nowhere morty goes sicko mode and it scared me for a few seconds until rememberd that that was supposed to happen

In the glitch the duck has more shading and the background is more Is Brown than usual You can definitely see this In the door frame

I just noticed rick is gone in the scene morty gets glitched, but he is there in the original!

I like to think that Rick thinks this is just a way for morty to win the argument when he glitches so Rick just dosent care so the glitch is like “uh… you gonna react or did I already corrupt u… yeah this reality is weird I’m out” and it just *leaves*

My idea isn't so much as the notion Rick is unable to be affected, we know they toyed with the notion of it. My idea is just that Rick has some degree of awareness of when things aren't happening the way they should, and his quick thinking to continue the episode as it should've went was enough to save Morty on a temporary measure.

I'd love to think Rick is the only one capable of seeing the glitch in non-canon references.

Very odd, it seems to be 'ineffective' in a way, as we've seen it's permanently infected characters (Jake and Fin being completely corrupted) but Morty seemed to be just fine after the scene switched back to Rick. Then again we have pretty much no info on this and this could be completely normal. Who knows

I have a theory that when a person gets corrupted, they try to fulfill their goal that they had in their lives. For ex: somebody who wanted to make everyone happy gets corrupted, and while they are corrupted, they go to make other people “happy” by trying to infect them as well. If someone who hated a person got corrupted, they would go for that person is particular and try to end them.
