After nearly four decades together, Ben (John Lithgow) and George (Alfred Molina) finally tie the knot in an idyllic wedding ceremony in lower Manhattan. But when George loses his job soon after, the couple must sell their apartment and - victims of the relentless New York City real estate market - temporarily live apart until they can find an affordable new home. While George moves in with two cops (Cheyenne Jackson and Manny Perez) who live down stairs, Ben lands in Brooklyn with his nephew (Darren Burrows), his wife (Marisa Tomei), and their temperamental teenage son (Charlie Tahan), with whom Ben shares a bunk bed. While struggling with the pain of separation, Ben and George are further challenged by the intergenerational tensions and capricious family dynamics of their new living arrangements.

This film captured the lives of normal people and their struggles. It felt like you were there with them, calm, boring, mundane, yet complicated, romantic beautiful movie that portrayed love.

If they could focus their energy on writing and grammar skills and self improvement they might come away a better individual who could contribute more positively to society.

Watched it yesterday, and instead of responding to some of the ignorant comments, let's celebrate how moving this movie is.  All this movie wanted to do is celebrate the love that these two person have for each other through all the struggles in their relationship.  Straight or gay, it's so heartbreaking to see their forced separation from each other.  If you think love and commitment between two individual is disgusting, then I feel sad you don't know what love it.
