Just bought The Cloud Peak 2 from Collins Outdoors using your discount code Ben. It came today, it's now up in the garden and I'm chuffed to bits with it. First proper outing in the Yorkshire Dales this weekend. Thanks, 👍

Linelock 3s were my first mod... I even added them to the hat, so that I can tighten it. No flapping nowadays. There's even some on ebay for the guy lines with the thicker material to wrap round the poles like a certain silly price tent... I couldn't resist doubling up the guy lines... study as anything now. Other mod I got was a footprint for the whole tent from quintcraft. Great service, great product and finishes off the tent nicely. Only other mod left that I want to do is upgrade the tent poles... not that I'm addicted to tweaking my tents 👀😁

Hey Ben!! I’m not sure if you know this but I LOVE my Cloud Peak 2! 😂🤣😂 I actually haven’t done any mods to it at all but do keep meaning to attach the hood more permanently. Very impressed by the striped lawn BTW 😂 xx

Got this tent few months back. Been out twice now on the 1st occasion the wind drove me wild on the top hat part flapping about (even with those black ones wrapped loads of times). So I have put 5mm thick bungee instead and the hat is alot tighter. Still not perfect but nothing ear plugs won't fix I suppose

I have seen a guy who changed for slightly larger diameter poles. Good idea with the guy lines I do the same. Also the larger dry bag is a must for any tent. Ideal if cold and raining when taking down. Stuff all in to sack, sort when home. I take a 60ltr pack but only fill to 40 ltrs just in case I have an emergency I can throw in any way with out playing tetris in my rucksack and being carful how it has to go in.

Another helpful video . I have used small buckle clips and split the orange tension straps so that when the tent is pitched the straps can be unclipped and rolled up so i dont trip on them getting in and out and then clip them up again when taking the tent down ready for the next pitch. atb

Great summary of the mods! The guy line tensioners look like copies or the real deal Line Lok tensioners - as used on Hilleberg and many others. What's the reason for wanting to swap for metal? I'm not a fanboy, but if it's good enough for those manufacturers it should be ok if you were concerned about longevity. If it's just personal preference of course that makes sense too

Collins outdoors says tax free, is it true?

Does anyone know the actual (not guessed) diameter of the poles? One blog claimed they are only 7mm, which is ridiculously thin for a tent like this. If anything I would suspect they might be the standard 7.9mm (which is still thin), but I know people are upgrading to after market 8.5mm or 9.5mm poles. Thanks.

Hi Daley, I can see you’ve not got the CP2 anymore but I was wondering if you ever used it in the winter season? I’ve had it for the summer and it’s ace but seems as we’re edging ever closer I’m becoming conscious that it won’t cut it in sub zero. What’s your thoughts if you can help?

just wondering if a cut down tarp would fasten under the hood to the poles (rain shedding overlap style) at the door, then supported by hiking poles, for a porch when its raining, which you take down at bedtime

What order does the pole that goes back to front get attached, is it the first or last?

'Shamelessly stolen' haha love it pal! That big pocket inside is what we call in the biz, a gear loft. Something I really miss about my CP2 and will probably mod out the Taiji 2 to have a gear loft because it's one of my only gripes with it, no storage 😭

Great video as always. I have watched as many upgrades videos as I could find on here. I have seen people replacing the poles with stronger one and cutting them down to fit as well as other little tricks. I have started making most of these upgrades and then come to the thought that if we ever get the kind of weather to really test this tent I probably won't be out in it. I think upgrading the hat to 5mm bungee cord and the lines to slightly better ones are probably all that needs to be done really. I think sometime we all get a bit carried away upgrading these tents. If we are gonna be out in crazy weather I think it time to think budget tents are great but maybe a step up is needed for the more crazy weather conditions.

Ben do you prefer the Cloud Peak 2 over the Lanshan 2, or visa versa? What pros/ cons of one over the other are there?
