I appreciate the thorough review. I have been buying the hourglass holiday face palettes for years. They are unique in my opinion for the finishing powders. There are so many face palettes on the market but they don't have the face finishing powders and none have anything that compare to the hourglass formula. These truly are an all in 1 palette I can travel with. I used to by both the lightest and medium palettes, one to use in summer and one to use in winter. For the past 2 years I will only buy the palettes that have the 2 finishing powders, which is the lightest one (jelly fish and this year dragon palette). In all the palettes I have bought over the years, I have never hit pan on a blush or a highlighter. I've had a few palettes where I've used the bronzer up. I consistently completely use up the 2 finishing powders and I honestly would love a palette that has 3 finishing powders because that is what I use the most of. I use them daily and for travel. I did really like the one palette that came out about 4 years ago that had one large finishing powder that took up 2 spots. However they changed the formula of that one to be more glittery which I don't want all over my face emphasizing pores. I agree with you they should have the finishing powders next to each other so you can dip into both or use a larger brush. Just my 2 cents on the palettes and how I personally use them.

I kind of like that you'll be able to demonstrate one at a time for us. On other reviews, a lot of ppl didn't take the time to redo their base. While they had good intentions, it was hard to see the true colors of the shades on the face. Also you're close to my skin tone, so it's especially helpful! I'm debating between the light and medium palettes. It's hard to tell but which bronzer would you say is cooler with the least sheen? Thank you so much for comparing everything between the palettes. It's incredibly helpful!

Not sure why the finishing powders get so much hate, I use so much more of those vs. a blush since it covers more of my face, so I appreciate having two. 😊

What is your undertone and do you think dragon palette will work for light cool toned skin?

I do love the two finishing powders
In the minority
I love the color scheme
! Very cohesive and I love the peach shade
And the bronzer !! Yes to no more orange shades !!!

Thanks for the great review. There was a palette years ago, that I have, with a plain bronze finish packaging with 2 finishing powders side by side . I think it was dim light and diffused light. I have hit pan on both of those but still have the highlighter bronzer and blushes left. I guess everyone is different but I did like the side by side powders. It's just as you said easier & can mix them which is what I did. I would love it if they did individual magnets etc. so as to use the old palettes & also customize the new ones. They are my go to all in one palette for travel - you don't need much more. I love the convenience of them .

When oh when will they make all pans magnetic, so we could not only change the set up of each palette, but we could create our own palette made of our favourite shades released in previous years? Also, I don’t like this creepy symbolism, had enough during this years olympics, would prefer animals, flowers, cities, whatever, just not this illuminati eye…

Thanks, this is the most likely one for me. Maybe they're mixing Dream Light with Ethereal Light(?) I've never heard of Dream Light either, but I have Ethereal Light and it sounds similar. I really like that the blush are very different. I'm someone who prefers 2 finishing powders so I'm happy, but I like your idea of putting them side by side.

The review I was looking for. I have Leopard palette and I love it! I am fan of those white powders under eyes, it gives sold light to the under eye area. Now I’m on my way to get Dragon palette!

Thank you for such a nice review. You really do an indepth review, which is so much different than other's. I especially like that you compare to other things that someone may have in their collection. 🙂

Hey, Shannon! I personally plan to mix the finishing powders and blushes, and the overall composition favors that. With such small pans I have a hard time doing anything but just swirling the brush over 2-3 shades.

You are spot on about I don’t understand why they don’t put both finishing powders next to each other. And I wish dragon palette had another blush. I’m still gonna pick up dragon color story even with FPs because blushes in evil eye are not attractive to me for my skin tone and the highlighter in evil eye would be too dark for me. But the bronzer and both blushes in dragon palette is what made me buy it.

Hi! Do the finishing powders pull very cool toned on the skin? I love diffused light because of the yellow tone to it. I’m not a fan of pinky-cooler powders on my face. Thank you for the wonderful review!

Wow thank you for this review! Phenomenally done :)

Is the bronzer on dragon cooler than the one in evil eye?

I’m so glad I ordered the Dragon. The colors look really good on you. I have similar golden undertone. All of the previous palettes have had very similar pinky berry blushes. I hope they continue to give us more peachy nude options, something like a Mac “warm soul”.

Thanks, I missed out last year so I have been waiting for these to come out. I ordered this color story in the lotus packaging. I specifically didn’t order the evil eye color story because the blushes are too close to each other. I am really excited for this palette.
