My first vid.. be gentle.
Watch me make a fool out of myself trying to do HV experiments..
DANGER..... don't do this at home folks.... microwave oven transformers are
lethal if handled inappropriately.

Mmmm! Arc in a bulb. So satisfying! :D

I hope you enjoyed that. Future generations won't have the opportunity to do arcs in lightbulbs! You had a nice arc in there too.

Try to stand the bulb upright so that the screw cap is lowermost, & the heat of the arc will draw it to the top of the bulb. Then it'll burn down inside & the bulb may fill with smoke & make nice patterns in there. Depending on voltage, the smoke is conductive, so may support one more HUGE arc before the bulb finally fails. :D

It depends on what type of lightbulb you use! :D

When Photon & I arc'd up a few lightbulbs, some burnt out inside & filled-up with smoke, the lamps with the halogen bulb inside....the arc jumped across the two leads going to the halogen bulb & melted it off (LMAO!) and a car lightbulb, well, got an arc stuffed in there!

a funny colour...Glowi....*BOOOM*

BITS OF IT EVERYWHERE! :D And it carried on arcing afterwards too! :D

No, your right.. they won't.
Here in the states at least the campaign to kill of incandescent bulbs has met resistance so they may be around a little while longer.
That bulb was in an outside fixture and ended up being replaced with a cfl.. like virtually all bulbs in the house.
I played with it a bit more and got it really burned up :D
