The Xiaomi Book S 12.4 is a Windows tablet with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 processor. Yes, that means this is a tablet with an ARM chipset and that's why it's running Windows on ARM. We also get 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, but no LTE option. It's running Windows 11 in S Mode which means you can install apps from the Microsoft Store only.

If you want, you can get the Xiaomi Book S with an official keyboard cover and an active pen. That stylus is the same one that also works with the Xiaomi Pad 5 Android tablet.

For an iPad alternative huawei and Xiaomi have some great picks. Huawei matebook E has a gorgeous oled at the cost of an insane amount of battery life on the i5 variant and no SD card. The book s here has amazing battery life a mediocre screen and mediocre power. For someone looking for traditional desktop apps and wanting to use an ad blocker they're much better than their overpriced Microsoft alternative.

I think windows on arm is the best choice for Windows tablet, as X86 gets too hot (or noisy) for comfortable use in the hand. We just need to wait for more powerful chips for an even better experience (the gen 3 is already a big step forward and Nuvia is coming).
