Lumpy Where's Waldo 4

Can you find Waldo in under 10 seconds? Great! This is your chance, Detective. End this.

Consider this an entry in the Lumpy _______ series, like Lumpy Duckhunt. I thought it might be fun to combine a minigame with a more serious story.

I am also aware of Let's Find Larry. I wasn't thinking of it when I made this, but if you're looking for an actual playable Where's Waldo type horror game, it's worth checking out!

For this video I used sprites from the Where's Waldo NES game. It's one of the lowest rated games on the entire console, featuring incredibly hard to read graphics. I needed to color it myself to make it legible (added some animation too).

Your stray pixel training prepared you for this, detective!

I used various bits of music from the Gameboy Camera OST. For this video I also used some tracks from Metal Gear 2 (MSX).

I feel like the reason why Waldo was pissed was cause this was not a moment where he made the detective play his game, he wasn't in his Iconic mid walk pose, just sitting on bench. He knows the detective is doing his job, but it annoys him when it's not in the middle of their game.

I love how angry Waldo looked even before the shot was fired, after rewatching, I noticed that he was looking right at the camera. He KNEW what the detective was trying to pull, and was pissed that he would resort to attacking him when he wasn't prepared.

I absolutely _adore_ how the first half of the video is in Famicon/NES style, fitting the more whimsical vibe, then switches to GBA style when things get more intense (kinda like how a lot of games were in their edgy phase during the early 00s).

I genuinely love this series. Of course all the animations are amazing and well done but I love this concept of Waldo being this basically god-level killer who you need to find as a detective. Its fun and creative! Each one has a different scenario or event ether be finding him, shooting him, finding bombs, etc. It’s an actual game and a great twist on things.
