The retail sector has experienced turmoil throughout the start of 2023 thanks in part by weak Q4 earnings reports. Underwhelming quarters from industry giants such as Walmart (WMT) and Home Depot (HD) lead to cautious guidance for the fiscal year but value brands such as Dollar General (DG) and Dollar Tree (DLTR) saw positives from last year, opening hundreds of stores each.
