The reason people buy a Camry because they think it's the most reliable car in the world and will go through a billion miles without breaking a sweat. In reality, that mazda is probably just as reliable.

I would get Mazda over Toyota and Honda because those two are way too common. Not only that but this car looks good, inside and out.

I have a 2014 with 104, 000 miles on it and I'm averaging around 31 mpg. Been flawless. One of the best cars I've owned.

Sometimes better isn't always popular.

I love it when im driving on the streets and several times I will see many makes and models, but only one Mazda per day if im lucky. Its cool to know that not to many people are buying the type of car that I have .This makes my car stand out from the crowd . Who wants to be driving something that others are driving . It begins to get bland and unnoticable .

We just picked up the 2016 wagon for the wife and I absolutely love it. it makes me want to just go for a drive for no other reason other than driving it. It's got enough power, it's quiet, solid, relaxed and comfortable. Sure it could be better in some areas, but for the money you get an amazing car, and reliability. The Camry is for people who have given up on the reason it sells so many.

Current mazda6 drives great, read up on their Skyactiv tech, it's not about "oh more cylinders would be better", look at their compression rate, look at the torque. It's actually better than what Camry has to offer, plus, if you don't know, Mazda offered a stock "sport" mode on this last gen in restyle only, what it does is not only some better gear shifting, it also keeps the RPM up for optimal torque, makes the gas pedal more responsive etc. I love how it drives in that mode.
And comparing Mazda to korean cars like Kia or Hyundai is laughable. Kia bought Mazda engines for years, before making something of their own, Hyundai is just the definition of "el cheapo" in materials and design, I owned some, they never drive well. Mazda's real comparison is Honda as a rival brand in Japan. You know, a real car brand, not the fake-copycat-wannabe type.
The reason why Mazdas don't sell well is the same reason of why most people prefer fastfood that makes them fat - most people are dumb.

The 4 cylinder is not the reason for lack of sales since 4 out of every 5 Honda Accords, Nissan Altimas, and Toyota Camrys are 4 cylinder. I think it has to do with brand recognition.

I think people overlook the Mazda 6 because they either forget Mazda exists while they're shopping or they aren't familiar enough with the brand and go with something they know like Honda, Toyota, or Nissan. Mazda has never sold cars in huge numbers in the US. They've always kind of been a niche brand.

I have a 2015 Mazda 6 with the 6-speed manual and it's a great car. It's beautiful, fun to drive, reliable, roomy, fuel efficient, and low maintenance. Yes, the engine is a bit anemic but I'll sacrifice some power for its amazing fuel efficiency, and while some people will be put off by there not being a more powerful engine option, I would say 8/10 buyers in this segment would be satisfied with the SkyActive 2.5.

I also have to address the elephant in the room here. The biggest reason besides the manual transmission that I bought the 6 is because every other sedan in the class is so unfortunate looking compared to the 6. The 6 is a leggy supermodel compared to its competitors.

They’re so underrated, I recommend Mazda 6’s to everyone after getting one

184 hp is enough for most people, but it's not competitive.

I'm driving it for a year now and it is a pure joy... didn't really noticed any lack of power maybe BC i owned a bunch of V8 trucks before that?

imagne if mazda put a V6 in it and a 4WD system that would be Epic

I've loved this car since it's intro, and just picked up a very nice used 2014 Touring model. Beautiful inside and out, and as everyone knows, rather sporty and great to drive in the twisties. 184 bhp, not winning all the drag races, but enough to have a little fun. I would guess most people shopping in this category are more concerned with a cushy ride, and a dang ol' v6, 'cause power makes more betterness and 4 cylinders is just worhtless! But some of us know they're missing the point. I can't afford a 5 series or E class, so the 6er is the best of the rest in m eyes. I also agree with you Roman, people just aren't as aware of Mazda as the other brands, their loss!

I recently bought one in soul red GT with the 19" stock mags.. what a beauty, I love the way it handles and drives. The built quality is just something Toyota drivers will never understand.

I have a 2014 Mazda 6, and Love It!! Right from the get go, that car has impressed me and still does. When I first got it, I had co-workers ask about it. Most had never seen it and all loved the look of it. Low, lean and wide, and it will move when pressed. I intend to keep this car for a while. All I can say is look at this car if you are considering this segment of the market, you will be impressed.
