It tells the story of astronaut Leo Davidson crash-landing on a planet inhabited by intelligent apes. The apes treat humans as slaves, but with the help of an ape named Ari, Leo starts a rebellion.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a 2011 American science fiction action film directed by Rupert Wyatt and starring Andy Serkis, James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, and David Oyelowo. Written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, it is 20th Century Fox's reboot of the Planet of the Apes series, intended to act as an origin story for a new series of films. Its premise is similar to the fourth film in the original series, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972), but it is not a direct remake of that film. In the film, a substance designed to help the brain repair itself gives advanced intelligence to a chimpanzee named Caesar, who administers the same treatment to an animal shelter full of other great apes. This leads to an uprising against humanity after Ceasar and other super-intelligent apes suffer abuse at the hands of the shelter's staff. A new society for free apes of all kind (some normal apes escape from a zoo during the pandemonium) is founded in the forests northwest of San Francisco as a result.

It is the sequel to the 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which began 20th Century Fox's reboot of the Planet of the Apes series. Dawn is set 10 years after the events of Rise, and follows a group of people in San Francisco who struggle to stay alive in the aftermath of a plague that wiped out most of humanity, while Caesar tries to maintain dominance over his community of intelligent apes.
War for the Planet of the Apes is a 2017 American science fiction action film[5] directed by Matt Reeves, produced by Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and written by Mark Bomback and Reeves. It is the third and last film in the Planet of the Apes reboot series. The film stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson and Steve Zahn, and follows a confrontation between the apes, led by Caesar, and the humans for control of Earth. Like its predecessor, its premise shares several similarities to the fifth film in the original series, Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973), but it is not a direct remake.

The best part about the Tim Burton PotA movie was that EVERY critic referred to it as "Marky Mark and the Monkey Bunch" which supposedly drove Mark Wahlberg INSANE.

I just love the "Ape Lincoln" joke.... he could have crashed everywhere but Tim Burton chose the Abraham Lincoln memorium

*Who would have thought it would be the 'Planet of the Apes' series, not 'Alien', or 'Star Wars' that would remain QUALITY*

It unnerves me how underrated this franchise is nowadays.

There are a couple of really cool references to the originals from the Andy Serkis Trilogy. What I find really cool about all of the Planet of the Apes movies is that you are constantly changing sides. That is, in any Planet of the Apes movie/series that was done right. You get to see the best and the worst of both sides face off against each other, and that's what makes these movies so unique and groundbreaking.

Food for thought, the war for the planet of the apes shows off the fact that there’s some kind of virus that renders the humans incapable of speech, thus setting the stage for the originals. So the 2011 reboot trilogy was like a prequel to the older ones. Absolute genius on the part of the directors

I’ve always loved Zira and Cornelius. They’re funny, intelligent, snarky and extremely devoted to their friends, each other, their work and doing the right thing. I was absolutely devastated at the end of Escape.

Before the modern mechanics of sci-fi were fleshed out, older sci-fi fell more into the speculative fiction genre and the mechanics of tech and scientific theory were more creative devices than anything else. I honestly miss that

The Tim Burton one was so crazy at the time. The fact he did it with minimal cgi

I remember watching every single original planet of the apes in one day with my grandma. She lived six hours away so I didn’t see her much, I still think about it. We drove down to see every new planet of the ape movie on opening day with her. A odd tradition lol

The scene with the statue of liberty is a classic, is showned from the simpsons to futurama to all Sci fi cartoons and movies as a parody. Shoked that you missed it until now.

I think Conquest is the hidden gem of the franchise. It has a very dark and nihilistic tone that could have only been achieved in the ‘70s.

War for the Planet of the Apes is my personal favorite. I wonder what Apes films will come after this? Caesers story is over but there could be more stories to tell? I dunno I just loved the new trilogy. It ended perfectly so if there wasn't anymore. I wouldn't mind. Great video as always mate, makes me want to re watch all the Apes movies again. -Liam.

If you didn’t know the Tim Burton version has the same ending as the novel these films were all based on.

Actually the the status of liberty wasn't broke down on the beach. The geographic of the earth changed so that statue is still sitting in it's exact spot... The ground elevated

Love these movies and think the recent ones seem to have been criminally overlooked by most people.
