Had a broken front tooth about 14 years ago that was fixed like this. It is still perfect and it was very quick to get. “Up to 7 seven years” drastically depends on the material used and our own habits and care. Mine doesn't even look like that it was broken once 😄 it's likely to last for decades, maybe I'll never have to do this again

Actually, the procedure is called a composite restoration, because bonding is the adhesive step in resin composite restoration. Acid etching not only roughens the surface but it opens the dentinal tubules so that when the bonding agent is applied it can penetrate the tooth better. The tooth isn't really isolated in this case because you would need a rubber dam. The celluloid strip being used to " isolate " is supposed to be used to help mold the resin composite which should normally be placed from back ( or lingual/ palatal ) to front ( or buccal/facial ). Once again, the bonding agent is used to BOND ( unite, adhere, bring together ) the resin composite to the tooth. Oh! and the " gap" is called diastema. Maybe someone who knows about dentistry should've been inquired for the creation of this video, not just someone who tried to google stuff.

The comments here are killing me. Gaps has different types. Some are so wide in between that, it looks like a giant tooth fell out. Slim or thinning gap tooth is beautiful. But those overly wide once are ugly. Like a lizard without a tooth... the one in this video is actually not bad. I would trade it with mine.

Why would you fill those, it's such a unique characteristic ! When my dentist assured me that the gap between my front teeth would close with braces I said "what ? no !" I don't know in english but in french we call this particular trait "les dents du bonheur" meaning "happiness teeth" :D

On my country stanger or not everyone laughs on my gap when I smile but when I ask my mom to bring me to a dentist my father tells me to stop talking about it because he has one too but dont care about it, but I am not him, he doesnt understand and so my mom agrees with him, now everytime they give me money for lunch or for my bus money instead I drop them in a secret money case and wake up early to go to school instead of using the bus, and they dont know about it, I have no problem for walking if it means to close the gap and stop everyone from laughing at me, well I had alot of fights and even punched a kid's tooth off for laughing at me but I got in trouble for that, and now idk what to do, I have the strenght to fight but I dont have the strenght to explain myself to my parents bc in their eyes I am a sin and the "victim" is saint
