Impressive. Very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's rainforest in a jar.

if I was tiny, I would have called that a rain forest. so beautiful. all it needs is a waterfall and swinging bridge

i made a lil moss terrarium just like this about 2 years ago in an empty candle jar and it's been awesome. eventually i threw a succulent in there, turns out it loves the humidity. also got a pet slug in there. he's cool, he eats onion chives that I grow separately next door. good ecosystem. I think theres some tiny worms in there too? idk all of it came from my yard though.

also it turns out slugs can live 2-6 years which makes em a pretty fun lil pet

I like looking for bottles in the old dump piles around the forested properties near my place. Sometimes you find an old mason jar with a neat forest inside. Flourishing, protected from much of the harsh weather. It is neat. When collecting glass bottles it's hard to decide if I should leave those ones there in place.

Beautiful!

I tried making terrariums for my mom and grandma several years ago, but didn't know they need a purification element (such as activated charcoal). They looked pretty nice. I just used moss and tiny plants I found in my yard, which hosts a wide variety, but they both died off in a few weeks.

Thought that counts though, right? 😄

Introduce live organisms to make it functional, but remember to make it larger if you want to put insects, snails in this

I'd love to get into stuff like this as a hobby, but I just have no idea how or where to start.

In the 1970s they used to call this a terrarium. You could make them yourself or buy it every five-and-dime store and grocery store across the country.😊

We used to make these when I was a kid at summer camp, they were the best. I'll have to do it with my granddaughter
