Great video! There is a lot of work we can do to improve the stands here in Indiana. We need more timber harvesting and therefore habitat creation. Our forests are in trouble and so are our wildlife. Let’s fix this!

Great job on this. Really captures the desperate need to create more of this habitat in Indiana.

agree with a lot that has been said but what about the birds and animals that are cavity nesters or require cavity to make brood dens. Chickadee, blue bird, fisher, martian, owls, just to name a few. Natural cavity are not even common with second generation Forest.

So interesting and somewhat glib treatment of pre settlement Forest management. Suggest public agencies purchase more land and turn it into young forests for game birds. We do have wonderfully managed Fish and Game areas in Indiana, and definitely they could be expanded. With the excellent support of all the avid conservatives and hunters, the Legislature could be so moved.. The box turtle is sweet to see as a user of young Forests, but feller bunchers and controlled burns are hard on turtles and other herptofauna.
Congratulations on a pleasant production, especially the music. Good luck hunting!
