If you plan on attempting to jog again, stick to about 3 times a week at first and balance out the mileage, don’t try to go out and run 5 miles each time. Let your body adjust and slowly up the mileage. When I have knee pain, I found wearing knee straps while I run helps a lot with the pain/swelling. Also recommend icing your knees for at least 20-30 minutes at night after your runs. Helps a lot with recovery and prevents future injuries.

Thank you for the video. I did the same and started walking daily and running two days a week with light weights at home. I find that these easy workouts are so great for mental and physical health. Way to go!!

As an endurance athlete I highly encourage you pick it back up it's an amazing sport. You have to do a bit of learning though I say start with 10-20 miles per week. I personally walk & run. I go for runs fairly long distances & mix them with higher speed intervals at distances of around 3-17 miles. I also love to go on walks I usually walk a total of 8 Miles every day because I like it.

Running is terrible for knees, speed walking is much safer ! If you want to improve your overall strength, without using weights, I recommend you to WO with videos from the channel Breathe and Flow (the guy is German like you, but he kept his accent when he speaks English !).

I used to have knee pains from my triathlons and currently having a patellar injury. I think that mainly its not about your shoe but you could focus more on your running/jogging form cause the platform you're running on is different (eg. Hard Road vs. Treadmill) and you can try some topical anti-inflammatory creams like ketoprofen. Take care stay safe.
