Convolution Reverb Explained

Normal reverb works by simulating echoes or sound reflections that might occur in a space, it’ more like an estimate.

On the other hand, convolution reverb actually uses a real sample or recording from a specific place.

This means it can make the sound feel like it’s coming from that exact place, whether it’s a cathedral, a small room, or any other location.

This makes convolution reverb more realistic and detailed compared to normal reverb.

A great free plug-in for this is Melda’s MConvolutionEZ.

The next time that you need a realistic-sounding reverb plugin, load up a convolution reverb!

Don't they just sound the same if you get parameters right on the Algorithmic verb?

A pamplution reverb is when a pineapple is used in the delicate reverb or fancy cocktail process

Not a real reverb, it’s based on IR of the room, and lacks of randomness of the real space
