Lace is always the first thing to break on my boots. That’s why carry extra laces.

So Felt boots have better traction? Wet rocks, or dry rocks, still better traction than rubber boots? Is it the materials that makes better traction? I'd think since its flat on the bottom it'd be more slippery....

It’s a shame no one makes a boot with both materials. Simms did make RipRap shoes with rubber rims, felt in the middle. Excellent compromise for those of us who hike distance to get to the water. I bleach my felt soles between streams.
