Container ship grounded in Little Belt, Denmark, October 27: Captain arrested for drunk sailing

The German-registered ship RAGNA ran aground last night on its way out of the harbour in Fredericia. The ship hit the sandy bottom 200 meters northeast of Strib and then became stuck. The 33-year-old German captain on the ship was subsequently arrested for drunk sailing.The ship, which had just left Fredericia Harbour, ran aground at 01:53. The sailing pattern from the harbour to the sandy bottom was so unusual that the Funen Police were alerted and called at 02.10.The container ship RAGNA is 100 meters long and 19 meters wide.
