WHITEWATER PRESERVE (REVISITED)

William and I revisited Whitewater Preserve almost a year on from our initial visit back in May 2021. Whitewater Preserve and canyon is directly north of Palm Springs. The 'Canyon View Trail' we took was a 3.7 mile loop that started with fairly forgiving switchbacks that began at the street parking area just before the Visitor Center. At the summit, it is roughly 2,800 feet above sea level. The descent down the steeper switchbacks at the northern end of the loop ultimately took us back to the Visitor Center. As you will see, the 'Canyon View Trail' offers breathtaking views of Mount San Jacinto in the distance. We highly recommend this hike that you are sure to enjoy, but be avoid the hot summer months as there are no shaded areas.
