Welcome to the fifteenth episode of the Speed Bumps Podcast. I'm apologizing in advance for this episode because I ramble a bit more than normal. Having received no questions, I decided to share a story of a solution I found when I encountered a higher than normal noise floor in a building. For the pro sound topic I discuss the importance of air frequencies in audio recording. As of right now, this is the last episode of the Speedbumps Podcast but who knows what the future may bring?

Audio notes:
The testing continues and this time I recorded on a Shure Twinplex TL-47 and recorded on a Deity BP-TRX. The audio was processed at 50.0% on the voice side in Clarity VX.

I love the speed bumps podcast. I just love seeing your passion for audio gear, sound and your teaching style. I naturally love your personality on this channel and am always excited to watch whatever you post. Even if that means not as often since you are so insanely busy for work. Or more often with videos that take a lot less prep time. I think you and Bandrew have great personalities and it's why I genuinely enjoy your content. It's about who you are and the value in what YOU have to say. And I think that says something about who you are as a person and I think that is a good thing:).

Thank you for another great episode. Your channel is one of the very few reference YouTube channel that is educational. Not every professional shares the tricks of the trades.

Yes, please do a full video on the air sound. It is all about the feel of the room.

Well we can always forgive bad video, but never do we forgive bad audio :) and the audio is on point .

I guess that is a big part of why the anechoic chambers creep people out. Good points.

Thank you for doing these and putting them together. For me, I think if you're able to go back and forth with the normal Sound Speeds video and a Speed Bumps video on alternating weeks would be best. I think the different formats work well to convey information in different ways. Of course, the numbers may play out differently, but that's how it seems to shake out for me.

One thing I've wondered about is which one puts more into your pocket: YouTube membership or Patreon?

I do have a question that may work for the podcast. How does temperature affect the sound response of a microphone? Given perfect wind protection, will a mic give a different frequency response at 30°c, 0°, -30°? I have an outdoor background and "know" that a place sounds different at the extreme temperatures, but want to be able to record it for others to experience.

Hi Allan, what microphone did you use in the bathroom to keep the noise down? thanks

So in regards to the ceiling tile, are you saying to push the vent up, and seal the hole with another ceiling tile?

How does tinnitus affect one's perception of air frequencies? I know the tone I've started to hear is right about 12khz.

Did you have spare ceiling tiles with you?
