Sorry...for the record: 'Waiting On A Friend' and 'Tops' date from the GHS album sessions. 'Worried About You' and 'Heaven' are from Black and Blue and Emotional Rescue respectively.

Dancing’ with Mr D, Heartbreaker, and Angie make this album worthwhile. I would include it in the golden period.

Enjoyed this video, John.... I consider Goats Head Soup to be one of the most beautiful and enjoyable albums ever recorded, and greatly underappreciated, so I am very happy with all the attention it is getting due to this re-issue. Not 100% sure I want to get the remix, given my nearly-50-years' rapt enthusiasm for the original mix (I have found that re-mixes are quite hit and miss), but I will probably go ahead and get it. Thanks for the video. Jeff

This Remix was done by Giles Martin at Abbey Road. He did a mighty job.
Sounds Fantastic, all 10 songs!
Goat’s Head Soup is down trodden only because the Stones were that good.
I still play it regularly and even moreso now with a remix. The Bass Lines are now all there

Think I badgered you into doing this review, John! Thank you! Yes, it's my favourite Stones album. I adore the lazy, flanged wah guitar work, and love what Mick Taylor brought to the Stones. I'm playing the new deluxe release a great deal, and really like the new tracks and demos. My highlight is the Heartbreaker instrumental, played LOUD. Coming Down Again can never be too long btw :)

Black and blue is probably my favourite because its different and exciting and it was something that they've never tried before or since full of groovy funky stuff and there's only 8 tracks there which was a great idea reggae, ballads and bits of rock and roll too great guitarplaying so that is a standout for me sad they never did this kind of thing again

Worried About You was firat recorded during the Black And Blue sessions and not for Goats Head Soup, Tops was the originally as an instrumental at these sessions with the early Waiting On A Friend

Mick Taylor shines! Hope that MT gets a financial cut here. 'Hide you Love', 'Heartbreaker', 'Winter', and `Angie' are standout tracks!

Yes, it's both Jagger and Hopkins on pianos on the 100 Years Ago demo. On the album version it's Preston, clavinet and Hopkins, piano.

Hi John, i only had the cassette of the original album so I invested in the new double album on vinyl with disc of extras on clear vinyl. The cover on this was the original intended cover with the goats head in soup pot. I was impressed by price of arround £28.I agree with your assessment of the album though feel the extra disc does really enhance the original .

Bill is also on the front between Mick and Keith on Black And Blue.

Bought the single CD edition. IMO it's top 3 Rolling Stones. Love everything except from "Winter". Skipped the 2CD edition because i didn't contain Through The Lonely Nights...

"Memory Motel" on Black and Blue features Mick on acoustic piano and Keith on electric piano. Goats Head Soup is my favorite Stones album, but each to his own.

Oh I forgot there's some jazzy elements on black and blue too

Spotify good but sound quality streaming not as good as CD and vinyl - you can get HD streaming. I bought the vinyl box which is good. I agree some tracks that were used on Tattoo you could have been included

The real gem on this re-issue is “The Brussels Affair”live album. It’s fantastic! I’m surprised you didn’t mention it. It’s actually the reason this album is actually worth buying again on vinyl.
