I love green tree pythons, but I prefer python azurea over python viridis (both species are considered green tree pythons) Azurea have better temperaments and look prettier as adults though IMO. Not to mention they have a red baby phase, which python viridis lacks entirely.

All of that said, I still think python sebae is the BEST advanced level snake. They blow burmese python out of the water when it comes to how rewarding they are to keep. I've kept 4 burmese pythons over the last 21 years and still keep 2 to this day. I'm not knocking burmese pythons. But comparing them to african rock pythons just isn't fair. African rock pythons are just WAY more active and WAY more intelligent. A burm is a pet rock by comparison. Afrocks are way more rewarding. Despite their appearance, afrocks are much more comparable to a reticulated python than a burmese python. They have firmer bodies like a retic too. They aren't soft and floppy like burms. They also have unusually tall ribs compared to burms. At 1st glance they seem to have the same bodytype, but burms are a whole lot "flatter" than afrocks. Afrocks are built more like a common boa. They sit tall in the spine and a cross-section of their bodies is almost a rounded vertical rectangle sort of shape. The cross section of a burmese python on the other hand are more of a horizontal oval.
