Bayonetta 3 Gameplay Trailer | Nintendo Direct September 2021

Bayonetta is back, with a brand new trailer of Bayonetta beating up on a giant Kaiju. In this trailer, we see Bayonetta 3's action gameplay as she dodges and utilizes Witch Time to rack up major combos on her enemies. Bayonetta 3 releases sometime in 2022.

Cereza dancing around while beating the enemies up is a mood

This could be Little Cereza grown up and trying to rescue her 'mom' (Bayonetta) from death (first Bayo 3 trailer), after all, in the first game, Little Cereza tells Luka that when she grows up she'll be strong too and protect her mummy.

P.s.: Another detail is the 'Verse 7' in all fights here. That may mean this part shown in the trailer can be a transition from the actual Bayonetta to this one (Little Cereza), that is, after a moment in the game, and then after that last scene of Gomorrah and the giant beast right before the bloody moon appear may be the moment it transitions back to the actual Bayonetta timeline. So what does that mean? Maybe we start the game playing the actual Bayonetta, and then after an hour or two she dies, and then we get to this part in this trailer, meaning Cereza will go after her 'mummy'.

Also, I am very interested in having her demons and summons being physically in the world with Bayonetta fighting alongside her and not just restricted to quick-time events and finishers. I hope that they add in new ones too, and all of her summons. Maybe beforehand you would have to fight/subdue a few to add to your summonable roster. Being able to go back to previous chapters and play around with new demons at your side seems like fun.

That HAS to be Cereza from B1, the hair style, her outfit being reminiscent of Cereza’s dress in B1, different voice, completely different timeline(?) with enemies that don’t look anything like Angels/Demons, different fighting style, even her summoning weave dance is more cheerful & childish. Putting my money on this theory full heartily.

Okay theory time! This isn't the Bayonetta we know. This Bayo is Cereza, the little girl our Bayo looked after in the first game; as this Bayo retains the hairstyle she had as a kid. In the game, it is possible our Bayo and Cereza will meet in one joined timeline, as the title card features three Umbra sigils overlapping each other (with the full sigil overlapped by two cresent ones), possibly showing that our Bayo will meet two alternate versions of herself. This is just a theory I thought up now and is not a fully fleshed out one at that, so I doubt if I'm correct.

Edit: I want to clarify something. My theory is that we are seeing an alternate Bayonetta, specifically the younger version who accompanied Bayonetta in the first game but grown up. When I say Cereza, I am referring to the Bayonetta we see in this trailer, and when I say Bayonetta, I'm referring to the one we know from the first two games.
