CHEAP TO BUY P-38 LIGHTNING radio controlled (RC) FIGHTER WARBIRD AIRCRAFT
Despite the fact this P-38 kit is not easy to assemble the results were rewarding. Carl had to use his significant experience of aero-modelling to assemble this kit because the instructions were not very helpful. He also had to make several minor modifications. These included adding a carbon spar to the horizontal stabiliser, adding lead weight to the back of the fuselage so the centre of gravity (CG) was correct and retrofitting some plastic to the bottom of each side of the fuselage to prevent the propellors getting damaged on landing. We opted not to fit the landing gear as it looked weak and would not have looked good in the air. He also found some of the hinges were not glued in correctly so worth double checking those and gluing in anything that requires it. Despite all that it flew extremely well for what is a relatively cheap RC aeroplane !
