I rember when I saw the compilation video with Alan Smith for the first time in 2005, maybe 2006 - I was 11 years old, an I've become obsessed with his style. I even made the same hair cut, and I was doing tackles, even if it was unnecessary. He was a pure definition of " the red devil". What a great player, and what a great time for United.

Absolute legend, I'm 32 now, i remember when he signed for Man United, I was heart broken, i was only a bearn, absolute top player no matter who he played for, glad to see he's happy where he is now, he deserves it

United legend because of the way he played. I'm not gonna say he loved Manchester United - maybe he did - but he loved playing football - and the passion can be seen whenever he put on a shirt. He played like a Manchester United fan would WANTED to have played if they could - that's what gave him a special place in our memories.

Loved that goal against Fulham - embodied everything he was about - work rate and craft. Shame that some nasty injuries cost him.

I couldn't care less if he is on 3rd division or lower right now, the guy will always be a legend for me. If Hazard (who is kind of my fav player right now) had the heart and passion Alan has, he would be a top 3 player in the world but Hazard seems to have a pretty crappy atittude tbh. I miss watching Man U with Alan and Rooney together :'(

I remember when I was arund 10 I used to love him when he played for Leeds. They had a very good team back then with Smith and Aussies Viduka and Kewell.
