Vader is a very deep character with a broad story arc. From the time we meet Anakin until we see him again in Return of the Jedi, Anakin and Vader have a very tumultuous life in the force.

I think Vader is a fascinating character he is so complex. It's interesting that the dark side of the force can destroy someone and change them into this monster that he is, but there is still a spec of anakin left in him. The movies did a good job of showing this but the comics are able to flesh this out even more
