I've been saying this same thing for years. There are so many things that get called 'aging' as a hand waving explanation when in reality they're a result of lifestyle changes that happen to be typical for most people.

Not sure what that last part meant. I do know, though that my A1c has crept up into the prediabetic range. It does not help my bodies response to my meal at all to exercise before hand. I’m not saying it doesn’t have some value overall, but my A1c will go up after the meal, the very same, whether I exercise or not whereas if I exercise afterwards, it can blunt that rise. I am 70 now, and unfortunately, I noticed that even though it blunts that rise, after I am not exercising, the glucose can rise again and still take a while to come down. It’s honestly been a shock and has been much harder to medicate than many of the websites, devoted to reversing diabetes have claimed it should be.

So for an older person, resistance training before protein intake is preferable?

Here's why I don't have metabolic syndrome:
1. have breakfast.
2. walk to school.
3. recess eat a snack and play around for 15min.
4. lunchtime and play chase for 30mins
5. walk home from school

Most of my life I walk to and from destination. At times I ran to not miss the bus and train. And then I bought a car...
At work: During tea break and lunch, no one wants to play chase :P so I just have to sit there and not move.
