That Brad guy seems cool, I hope he eventually got his SAG card and did some acting

His mistake was to ask a QUESTION of the actress--which then demanded a response, and probably threw her off. If he had just made a short, soft, unobtrusive statement like "there you are, " or whatever, they might have let it slip by.

I respect that the directior didnt immediately kick him off, he let him take his shot even if it missed.
My reply to some of the comments below: a director on an ego trip will make sure everyone is keenly aware that they "own the set". Are all directors dictators? No but some of the well known ones are. I imagine Tarantino would kick you off set, we all heard about him and Jamie Foxx

Edit: I'm just happy to bring everyone together like this

I used to work with an old guy named Kenneth. He has been an extra in over 300 films and TV shows. I didn't believe him until he brought in his photo album one day with screen shots of all of them. He said they didn't pay much but it sure is a cool conversation starter!

I was a wrestler back in the 90’s and actually managed to get a line in a feature. It was the best health insurance I’ve had.
I had a SAG card for one year and my teeth are still perfect from the dental care I received that one year.😅

He should have just said "Enjoy!" after he poured, that way it's one word, simple easy still counts and it's not a questions therefore doesn't require a response

Rookie mistake. Adlib can work, but I would never ask an actor a question mid take!

I love how Brad Pitt is still such a relatable guy and understood what the interviewer was referring too whereas I doubt that is something Leo could have done.

That director missed a great mullet opportunity

I got my SAG card doing extra work in a very old movie, now, called Man Woman and Child with Martin Sheen. One of the other extras was given a line to say and wasn't doing a good job. They were giving him several chances and I actually stood up and said the line with good emphasis, etc. and Martin Sheen said "he's got it" and the director said "switch places." So sometimes speaking up does work (or I could have gotten kicked off set :-)

Just blows my mind that Pitt was once fighting for a word in a Sheen movie. Awesome.

My first time in Europe was summer of 1999 and pictures of these two guys were everywhere! Seven countries and I would see their faces multiple times in all of them. It's good to be the Kings.

Director didn't realize that his extra would end up as one of the most iconic actors in history :D

I was a reporter on Sex and the City 20 years ago and they gave me a dead microphone, I wanted my sag card

Brad Pitt speaking in the present tense, and including fellow actors currently working as extras, is so wholesome and wonderful. That explanation could’ve been so different and most people wouldn’t have even noticed but I’m glad he was so humble about it

Next go; pours champagne in her lap and says «oh sorry, my bad. Would you like anything else?»

I’ve been on a set as an extra ( background actors) and another way to get your card is to have no one between you and the camera
I learned a couple of things doing this. Competition is fierce and ruthless. Very few nice guys make it. Extras can be pleasant to each other but they will slit your throat if you hinder their quest. Most extra jobs back then were basically show up. It was $25 a day in 1980. Once the director saw me and said “you come here” camera then in my face literally 2 feet away got me $325 for the day and points toward my SAG card.
My father was an Academy Award director with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He died prematurely at 54. No one heard of him after that. Same thing when an actor gets old. There are exceptions to the old situation. For example Jeff Bridges. Now that he is 75 there just happened to be an opening for an old man. Guess what the movie was entitled “The Old Man”😂 Next will be a part for a dying old man whatever actor is dying at the time will get the role. Only problem is you might only get one take😂😂
