【ENG DUB】Resurrection & Rebirth 09: Sins Will Inevitably Lead To Retributions | Testimony of Reincarnation in the Bible | Origen
Sin, whether it is a sinful action or sinful nature, will inevitably lead to retributions. In the Book of Genesis, after Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and acquired sinful nature, their retributions emerged: women would experience the pain of childbirth, and men would toil and sweat for a living. Nowadays, the increasing diseases, disasters, and wars are all results of the growing sins of humanity.
In Deuteronomy, the law received by Moses is recorded: "Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor children be put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin."
(Jeremiah 31:29-30) In those days (when the Messiah comes), people will no longer say, "The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge." Instead, everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes—their own teeth will be set on edge.
From the Bible, we can clearly learn that each person will face consequences for their own sins. The sins of every living being are created by themselves, rather than copied from others.
Humans are born with sinful nature. So, even though infants and young children haven't committed any sinful actions, they still experience consequences. They may suffer from various illnesses, disasters, and even abuse or bullying.
Hence, the sinful nature of humans should be brought from past lives, and accumulated life after life.
God loves humanity. He even offered His most special Son to pay for our sins. Although the current Bible doesn't provide a clear explanation for sin and reincarnation, as the beloved son of God, Christ certainly has the wisdom to explain these issues.
According to research, the teachings on reincarnation were deleted from the Bible by the Holy See. It's not because Jesus hadn't explained it clearly. In fact, he did explain it, but the teachings were deleted by others.
Origen (185-254), the most influential Bible scholar in the history of Christianity, was an active advocate of reincarnation. However, during a church council in May 553 AD, Justinian I (485-565), the Byzantine Emperor at that time, used his royal authority to tear up the agreement. In the absence of the Pope, he condemned Origen, igniting a fierce opposition to reincarnation that lasted for nearly 1500 years, causing many later Christians to reject the concept of reincarnation.
Question: Is there any testimony of reincarnation in the Bible?
Answer: (John 6:38) For I have come down from heaven not to do my will, but to do the will of him who sent me.
(John 8:23) Jesus said to them, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
To explain these two verses, first, we need to understand the difference between "born" and "from". "Born" means from non-existence to existence, while "from" means from somewhere to here.
These two verses are quite clear. Christ said, "I am from above, sent by God." This indicates that his spirit was originally in heaven and later came to earth, conceived in Mary's womb. However, people only knew that he was born of Mary, but didn't know he was the Christ.
As for "You are from below", "below" doesn't refer to hell; rather, it refers to the human world on earth, in contrast to heaven.
Moreover, how do we understand "You are of this world; I am not of this world"? We know that Christ's physical body was born of Mary, which was certainly "of this world", like ours. Therefore, what Christ meant was: "Your spirits are of this world, but my spirit is not of this world."
These two verses explain that our souls come from somewhere else. However, people only know that our bodies are reproduced from the cells of our parents, and we are born of our parents.
If our souls are not from elsewhere but newly endowed by God, then Christ would not have said that our souls "are from below". Instead, he would say that our souls are newly endowed by God, and have just begun our first life.
If our souls have just begun the first life journey, then we shouldn't have sinful nature (original sin). How could God possibly endow us with a sinful new soul?
This strongly indicates that our physical bodies come from our parents, while our souls are preexisting souls on earth. So, what was this sinful soul doing before being reincarnated as us? How did it accumulate so many sins? The only explanation is that the sins are accumulated life after life.
Regardless of religion or denomination, as long as you believe in Christ, believe in God, believe in reincarnation, turn away from evil and do good, repent and reform, we are brothers and sisters, and our denominations share the same vision. So let’s unite to spread the truth.
